If you’ve just installed your VSOL ONU or need to change its configuration, you can manage the device through its built-in web interface. This guide answers the most common questions about logging in to a VSOL ONU and resolving login issues.

Note: The default login information below applies to VSOL ONUs with factory settings. If your ISP or network administrator has customized the device, the IP address or login credentials may be different.

1. What is the Default IP Address of a VSOL ONU/ONT

The factory default management IP address of most VSOL ONUs is: 192.168.1.1

Enter thsi address into your web brower’saddress bar to access the login page.

If the page cannot be reached, check that:

• Your computer is connected to the ONU via Ethernet ot Wi-Fi.
• Your device has obtained an IP address in the same subnet.
• The ONU has finished booting.
• The management IP has noe been changed previously.

2. What are the Default Username and Password?

By default, the administrator login credentials are:

For security reasons, it is recommended to change the default administrator password after your first successful login.

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1. Connect to the ONU

Complete the hardware installation and connect your computer to the ONU using either:

• An Ethernet cable (recommended), or
• The default WI-Fi network (if enabled).

Step 2. Access the Log in Page

Launch your web browser and enter the management IP into the address bar:

http://192.168.1.1

Then press Enter to access the login page.

Step 3. Enter the Login Credentials to Log in

When the login page appears, enter:

• Username: admin
• Password: stdONU101

Click Login to access the management interface.

FAQs About VSOL ONU Login

1. Why can’t I access 192.168.1.1?

There are several possible reasons:

The ONU is not properly connected

Verify that:

• The Ethernet cable is securely connected.
• The Power LED is on.
• The PON/LOS indicators show normal operating status.

Your Computer Has No Valid IP Address

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the network cable or renewing your IP address.

The management IP has been changed

If another administrator has modified the LAN IP address, the default address will no longer work. Try checking your computer’s default gateway or contact your network administrator.

Browser cache issues

Clear your browser cache or try using another browser or private/incognito mode.

2. What if the username or password doesn’t work?

If the default credentials fail:

• Make sure there are no typing errors.
• Check whether the administrator password has already been changed.
• Ask your ISP or network administrator if the ONU was pre-configured before deployment.

If you cannot recover the credentials, you may need to perform a factory reset (if permitted by your ISP), which restores the default login information.

After logging in:

• Navigate to the WLAN settings.

5. Is the login process the same for every VSOL ONU?

The login procedure is generally the same across most VSOL ONU models. However, some ISP-customized firmware versions may use different default IP addresses, usernames, passwords, or interface layouts.

Yes. A factory reset restores the ONU to its default configuration, including the default IP address and administrator credentials. Any customized Wi-Fi settings or network configurations will be removed.

How to Log in to VSOL OLT

VSOL OLT supports multiple login methods, allowing flexible access for both initial deployment and daily network management.

Method 1: Web Login (Recommended)

Web login is the most intuitive method, especially for initial configuration.

1. Connect your PC to the OLT management port
2. Set your PC IP address in the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.8.x)
3. Open a browser and enter: https://192.168.8.100

4. Enter your username and password to access the system (Default username and password: admin/Xpon@Olt9417#)

Notes:

• Default Web access uses HTTPS (port 443)
• Ensure browser security settings do not block access

Method 2: Console Login (CLI Access)

Console access is typically used for first-time setup or troubleshooting when remote access is unavailable.

1. Connect the OLT to your PC using a console cable
2. Open a terminal tool (such as PuTTY or SecureCRT)
3. Configure serial parameters (commonly 9600 baud rate)
4. Log in using your credentials (Default: admin/)

Method 3: Remote Login (Telnet/SSH)

For remote management, VSOL OLT supports Telnet and SSH access.

• Ensure the OLT has a reachable IP address
• Enable Telnet or SSH if required
• Access via:

telnet <OLT-IP> or ssh <OLT-IP>

How to Log in to Your VSOL Router

VSOL routers now have no default login password. On your first login, you will enter the Quick Configuration Guide to set your login password, network, and Wi-Fi. Follow these steps:

Step 1. Install your VSOL router and connect your device to it via Wi-Fi.

Step 2. Open a web browser and enter the router’s IP address in the address bar (default: 192.168.131.1).

Step 3. The Quick Configuration Guide will appear. Follow the prompts to configure your Mesh, network, and Wi-Fi settings. Then set your login password on the User Management page.

Step 4. Complete the remaining settings and wait for the configuration to take effect. After the Wi-Fi restarts, reconnect your device to the VSOL router.

Step 5. Visit 192.168.131.1 again and log in using the password you set in Step 3.

How to Change Your VSOL Router Login Password

Step 1. Log in to the router’s web interface at 192.168.131.1.

Step 2. Go to Config Panel > Advanced Mode > Management > User Management.

Step 3. Enter your new login password for the VSOL router (note: this is not your Wi-Fi password) and confirm it.

Step 4. Click Submit to save the changes.

How to Change Your VSOL Router Wi-Fi Name and Password

Step 1. Log in to the router’s web interface at 192.168.131.1.

Step 2. Click on the Wi-Fi Config icon.

Step 3. Enter your desired Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, then click Submit to apply the changes.

Note: When Adaptive Wi-Fi is enabled, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands will share the same name and password. Your devices will automatically switch between bands based on signal strength and conditions.

PON ports are transparent mode, don’t need to configure vlan. Other vendors such as Huawei, ZTE, Fiberhome OLT also don’t need to configure vlan for pon ports. Just need to configure tcont, gemport, service, service-port for each onu.

You can access ONU through WAN IP. By default, it’s not allowed to access from WAN, you need to set firewall level to low and enable wan access on the web.

Attention: for security, please do not enable wan access.

(1)Access through AUX port:
Change the aux IP to the same segment as your network, and configure the gateway.
(2)Access through uplink port:
Configure VLAN, VLAN port, and IP of the VLAN, then configure default route 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x(gateway).

ONU doesn’t detect optical signal, please measure optical power by powermeter, make sure ONU rx power in range -8dBm~-27dBm.

Please make sure the firmware matches the hardware. Model id or hardware version doesn’t match with the firmware, upgrade will fail.
