Part I. EPON OLT remotely connects to EMS
Assuming the network environment is as shown in the following figure, we need to connect the EPON OLT to the server computer of the EMS.
There are two ways to connect to the server: configure out-of-band management IP and configure in-band management IP.
1. Connect by In-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step 1: Create a new VLAN
Click OLT Configuration→VLAN. As shown in Figure, create VLAN 4001.
Step 2: Assign the ports to the VLAN that have been created
Click OLT Configuration→VLAN→VALN Port to configure VLAN ports. You can choose the VLAN mode.
Assuming GE1 is connected to the network, add GE1 to VLAN 4001.
Step 3: Configure the default VLAN ID (PVID) in untag port.
Click OLT Configuration→Uplink Port→Information.
Step 4: Configure VLAN IP
Click OLT Configuration→IP Route→VLAN IP, select an existing VLAN, and set an IP address for this VLAN.
Configure as shown in Figure.
Step 5: Add Static Route
Click OLT Configuration→IP Route→Static Route.
Please note that the destination IP address must be filled in “0.0.0.0”.
Fill in 192.168.1.1 for the Gateway.
Step 6: Remote server
Click OLT Configuration→System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Configure as shown in Figure.
2. Connect by out-of-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step 1: Configure AUX IP
Click System Configuration→AUX IP, configure as shown in Figure.
Step 2: Remote Server IP
Click OLT Configuration→System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Part II. GPON OLT remotely connects to EMS
Assuming the network environment is as shown in Figure, we need to connect the GPON OLT to the server computer of the EMS.
There are two ways to connect to the server: configure out-of-band management IP and configure in-band management IP.
1. Connect by In-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step 1: Create a new VLAN.
Click OLT Configuration→VLAN. create VLAN 4001.
Step 2: Assign the ports to the VLAN that have been created.
Click OLT Configuration→VLAN→VALN Port to configure VLAN ports. You can choose the VLAN mode.
Assuming GE1 is connected to the network, add GE1 to VLAN 4001.
Step 3: Configure the default VLAN ID (PVID) in untag port.
Click OLT Configuration→Uplink Port→Information.
Step 4: Configure VLAN IP.
Click OLT Configuration→IP Route→VLAN IP, select an existing VLAN, and set an IP address for this VLAN.
Configure as shown in Figure.
Step 5: Add Static Route
Click OLT Configuration→IP Route→Static Route.
Please note that the destination IP address must be filled in “0.0.0.0”.
Fill in 192.168.6.1 for the Gateway.
Step 6: Remote server
Click OLT Configuration→System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Configure as shown in Figure.
2. Connect by out-of-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step 1: Configure AUX IP
Click System Configuration→AUX IP.
Step 2: Remote Server IP
Click OLT Configuration→System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Part III. Switch remotely connects to EMS
1. Connect by In-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step1: Create a new VLAN
Click Basic Configuration→VLAN, create VLAN 4001.
Step 2: Assign the ports to the VLAN that have been created
Click Basic Configuration→VLAN→VALN Port to configure VLAN ports. You can choose the VLAN mode.
Assuming GE1 is connected to the network, add GE1 to VLAN 4001.
Step 3: Configure the default VLAN ID (PVID) in untag port
Click Basic Configuration→Port →Configuration.
Step 4: Configure VLAN IP
Click IP Configuration→VLAN IP, select an existing VLAN, and set an IP address for this VLAN.
Configure as shown in Figure.
Step 5: Add Static Route
Click Route Configuration→Static Route.
Please note that the destination IP address must be filled in “0.0.0.0”.
Fill in 192.168.6.1 for the Gateway.
Step 6: Remote server
Click System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Configure as shown in Figure.
2. Connect by out-of-band Management IP
To add steps, please refer to the following.
Step 1: Configure AUX IP
Click System Configuration→AUX IP.
Step 2: Remote Server IP
Click System Configuration→SNMP→Remote Server to enable the remote server and fill in the server IP.
Part IV. Query OLT/Switch
Access the EMS server through a browser and click the Device to get basic information about the device that has connected to the EMS.
This section displays OLT/switch information such as hostname, model, firmware version, MAC address, IP address, Last login time, online duration, and so on.
This part also has the function of searching for OLT.
You can choose to view the online OLT or offline OLT, as shown in Figure. You can also choose to view all GPON OLTs or all EPON OLTs, as shown in Figure.
Fill in the hostname, hardware version, MAC address, or software version, and click on the query. Then you can get all eligible OLT and match all the conditions at the same time.
You can also choose the Statistics to check the device status, type list, etc. as shown in Figure.
